Artistic practice and working methods

I am a dancer/performer and interdisciplinary artist specializing in dance improvisation, participatory practice, and arts education. My work emerges at the intersection of body, space, and social interaction – often site-specific, process-oriented, and in dialogue with the people I invite to become part of the artistic event.

Trained in fine arts, performing arts (UdK Berlin and HBK Braunschweig), and dance (pedagogy) (including TanZ Braunschweig and Tanzfabrik Berlin), I combine installation and visual approaches into open formats that create spaces for experience beyond traditional stages. My projects take place in theaters, museums, and festivals, as well as in schools, public squares, and rural areas. I am interested in how performance art can initiate social processes and enable new forms of encounter. In my practice, the quality of immediacy plays a central role: movement as a language that connects – improvisational, exploratory, and situational.

I work freelance in diverse constellations – with individuals, artists from various disciplines, institutional art production venues, universities, and independent groups. My artistic interventions are commissioned by, among others, Tanzhaus NRW, the Crespo Foundation, documenta Kassel, and the Federal Academy Wolfenbüttel.

and cultural education

I have extensive experience in developing and implementing artistic and aesthetic educational formats – both within and outside of school settings. My work is research-oriented, collaborative, and transdisciplinary – involving students, teachers, artists, and institutions alike.

I bring experience with me

  • as a “Flying Artist” of the Crespo Foundation, with a one-year intervention in the rural area of Hesse

  • as dramaturge and workshop leader for dance and performative practice for the Young Dance House at the Dance House NRW

  • as the initiator of a pilot project for the implementation of dance as a school subject at a school in Wolfsburg

  • in the conception and management of various artistic projects, realized within the framework of programs such as Kultur:Schule Niedersachsen or the LAG Tanz im Saarland together with Tanz und Theater machen stark (Federal Association of Independent Performing Arts)

My artistic practice was reflected upon and certified in 2022 as part of the pilot course “Artistic Interventions in Cultural Education” (University of Hildesheim / Federal Academy Wolfenbüttel), funded by the Mercator Foundation.

Teaching and cooperation

I am regularly active in teaching – with students of artistic subjects at universities and colleges, or in professional development programs for teachers and school principals on the path to becoming cultural schools. I receive teaching assignments through…

  • the Saar University of Music (where I am currently responsible for the dance department in the Elementary Music Education program), the University of Hildesheim, the Berlin University of the Arts, the University of Marburg, the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, the Braunschweig University of Art

  • the Hessian Ministry of Culture, Education and Opportunities

  • through schools (e.g. as part of their “Pedagogical Day”)

I am open to collaborations, new contexts, and creative impulses.
